About Rio
Rio is a gentle giant with the heart of a teddy bear and the social grace of someone who stands up when guests enter the room. He’s beautifully trained on and off lead, socialised to the heavens, and gets along with dogs of every shape, size, and questionable haircut.
He’ll happily join you for a walk to stretch those long legs, but his true passion? Sunbathing. This man is basically a lizard in a dog suit. If there’s a patch of sunlight, he will find it, claim it, and melt into it like butter on toast.
Kid‑Approved
Rio has grown up with children and is very good with them. His approach? Sniff. Approve. Carry on with his day. He’s calm, affectionate, and unbothered by the chaos of small humans.
Dog Social Skills
When meeting new dogs, Rio has a brief “OH MY GOD A FRIEND” moment, followed by a quick play, and then he’s off to mind his own business like the introverted extrovert he is.
Home Life
At home, Rio is low energy, low drama, and high cuddle potential. He’ll plod around the house, checking where his people are, then settle into a sunny spot like a giant houseplant with feelings.
He’s used to being on his own during the day, so you will return to a house exactly as you left it… Unless you left food out. In which case, Rio will absolutely locate it using his internal NASA‑grade snack‑detection system.

Rio has one firm boundary: No cats. He has reviewed the matter thoroughly and his stance is final.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs.
