Meet Potato (aka Tate, aka Tato): The Slimming Spud With Main-Character Energy
Tato has begun his glorious glow‑up journey, embracing pack walks, better choices, and the kind of determination usually reserved for reality‑TV contestants trying to win a cash prize.
He is powered by enthusiasm, mild ego, and the belief that every room he enters is his stage.
What We’ve Learned About Tato So Far
Dog selective like a dad choosing which neighbours he’ll wave at — a bit of posturing, a bit of judgement, then full friendliness once he decides you’re alright.
Boundary testing. He’ll push a little, but he’s such a marshmallow that it’s more funny than problematic.
FOMO king. If life is happening elsewhere, he would like to be included, thanks. But he settles quickly once he realises he’s not missing a rave.
Crate superstar. Sleeps, chills, travels… the crate is his safe space and he treats it like a VIP lounge.
Bath & blow-dry champion. Stood there like a man at a salon pretending he’s not enjoying it.
Responds beautifully to “Tato”. Which is perfect, because yelling “POTATO, STOP POSTURING AT THAT DOG” in public is a lot.
Personality Snapshot
Tato is a friendly, goofy, people-loving dude who is settling in and letting his quirks shine. He’s got the confidence of a dog who believes he could absolutely win a wrestling match (he could not), paired with the softness of a dog who just wants to be loved and included.
He’s the perfect mix of gentle giant, wannabe tough guy, and sensitive marshmallow.
Tato’s Ideal Home
He’s going to make someone an incredible pet, truly. He’d suit a home that enjoys:

The Glow-Up Continues
Tato is already a joy, and he’s only getting better as the weight comes off and his confidence settles into something more “charming lad” and less “teenage boy at the skatepark.”
He’s shaping up to be one of those dogs people meet and immediately love.
