Orion

MALE | BORN APPROX OCTOBER 2018 | POODLE X
LOCATED IN AUCKLAND

Meet Orion: Snack Seeker, Crate Enthusiast, Professional Fetch Dropper

If you’ve ever dreamed of living with a dog who looks at you like you just told him he’s won the lottery (but the prize is cheese), then allow us to introduce Orion — a soulful-eyed sweetheart with the snack obsession of a toddler at a birthday party.

Personality:

  • Orion has puppy dog eyes so powerful, they’ve been classified as a minor superpower. One glance and you’ll be handing over your sandwich.

  • Sweet as syrup and twice as sticky — he’ll melt your heart and then stick around for snacks.

  • Crate life? He’s into it. It’s his man cave, his zen zone, his snack-free sanctuary (unless you deliver)

  • Loves fetch. LOVES it. Just… not the “returning the ball” part. He’s more of a “throw it, chase it, drop it somewhere mysterious” kind of guy.

  • Other dogs? He’s chill. They’re just background characters in his quest to find the humans with the treats.

Orion isn't quite ready for adoption just yet, but if you would like to express your interest in adopting him when the time comes then please apply. We do not have a timeframe just yet but will conduct meet and greets when he is ready, in his own time.

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs

Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.

All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.

Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.

We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.

Can't adopt Orion? You can still help.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
