Meet Monty: Fast as F*ck Boi

Have you ever looked at a dog and thought, "You know what my life needs? More cardio."

WELL, HAVE WE GOT THE DOG FOR YOU.

Meet Monty. Part dog, part Formula 1 car, part heat-seeking Frisbee missile.

Monty has two speeds: 1. MACH 10 WITH NO BRAKES. 2. Couch potato.

There is no in-between.

This boy is FAST. Like, blink-and-he's-in-another-postcode fast. He has absolutely no interest in leisurely strolls where you stop to admire the flowers. THERE ARE THINGS TO CHASE, SUSAN.

And by things, we mostly mean his Frisbee.

Monty's relationship with his Frisbee is probably best described as unhealthy. If Frisbees could get restraining orders, his would have filed one months ago.

Throw it. THROW IT AGAIN. WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED THROWING IT? ARE YOU DEAD?

But wait, there's more!

Despite having the energy levels of a toddler who has eaten an entire birthday cake, Monty is actually a very good boy.

He's crate trained, has lovely basic obedience, and his recall is fantastic. Which is fortunate, because if he decided to leave, you'd need a helicopter to catch him.

And here's the best bit. Monty actually has a great off-switch! He just needs someone who knows where the button is and isn't afraid to press it.

Once he's had his exercise and been told it's time to chill, he's more than happy to transform into a snuggly couch companion.

Yes, the same dog who was breaking the sound barrier 20 minutes ago now wants to cuddle. We don't understand it either.

Monty's Dream Human - We're looking for someone who considers running a hobby rather than a punishment.

Someone who:

- Runs, bikes, hikes or enjoys being ridiculously active.

- Has a throwing arm that would make an Olympic athlete jealous.

- Understands that high-energy dogs need mental stimulation AND structured downtime.

- Would love to get involved in dog sports.

Monty could be an absolute weapon at agility, lure coursing or flygility. Honestly, give this boy a sport involving speed and something to chase, and he'll probably start collecting trophies.

The Bottom Line - Monty is not a dog for someone whose idea of exercise is walking to the fridge.

He's a brilliant, affectionate, clever boy who needs an equally enthusiastic human to keep up with him.

Give him exercise, structure, a Frisbee and somewhere comfortable to snuggle, and you've got yourself one hell of a dog.

So, if your running shoes are worn out, your throwing arm is strong, and you've ever wanted to own a furry missile with excellent recall...

Monty would like to review your application.

Warning: May cause improved cardiovascular fitness, excessive Frisbee purchases and an overwhelming sense of inadequacy about your own athletic ability.

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs

Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.

All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.

Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.

We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.

Can't adopt Monty? You can still help.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
