Finnick
MALE | BORN FEBRUARY 2026 | GERMAN SHEPHERD X
LOCATED IN AUCKLAND
Meet Finnick, a small dog with big feelings and an even bigger commitment to keeping you informed at all times.
He has a voice, an expressive one, and he likes to use it to share important updates such as:
“You walked away.”
“You might be walking away.”
“You put me to bed.”
“I have woken up and therefore everyone should know.”
He’s not being dramatic; he just genuinely making sure you are informed of his every thought. He's currently getting training on his constant commentary, but this is pretty standard puppy stuff. He’s already making progress, and with routine and consistency, he’ll keep improving.
Toileting: We’re still working on the whole “outside is for toileting” concept. He understands it… philosophically. In practice, it’s a bit hit or miss. Again, this is standard puppy stuff that he will get with consistency.
Eating: His dining style is best described as enthusiastic chaos. He eats like a tiny barbarian who believes every meal is a competitive sport. It’s endearing. Mostly.
Underneath all the quirks is a sweet, sensitive boy who wants nothing more than to feel secure, be close to his humans, and learn how to navigate the world with a little more chill.
If you’re looking for a dog with personality, heart, and a commitment to keeping life interesting, Finnick is ready to meet you.

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs
Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.
All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.
Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.
We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.
Can't adopt Finnick? You can still help.
Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
