MALE | BORN APPROX MAY 2023 | MALTESE X SCHNAUZER
LOCATED IN AUCKLAND

Meet Douglas – The Pocket Rocket of Your Dreams!

Looking for a dog who’s basically a furry ball of joy with a sprinkle of chaos? Say hello to Douglas – the happiest little dynamo you’ll ever meet!

Douglas comes with a solid foundation of training, which means he knows the basics… but don’t let that fool you – he’s got energy to burn and a personality that could power a small city.

Why Douglas is Awesome:

·       Pocket Rocket Status: Small in size, BIG in enthusiasm. He’s like a sports car in dog form – sleek, speedy, and occasionally does zoomies without warning.

·       Playtime Pro: Loves toys, games, and anything that involves running like he’s auditioning for the next Fast & Furious: Canine Edition.

·       Leash Legend: Pretty good on the lead and actually listens when you tell him to chill.

·       Happy Vibes Only: His tail wag could generate enough wind to cool your entire house.

Douglas’ Ideal Human:

Someone who enjoys long walks, laughing at silly antics, and doesn’t mind being occasionally outpaced by a dog with Olympic-level sprinting skills. Bonus points if you own a ball launcher or have a garden big enough for his zoomies!

He will need humans who understand boundaries as he needs them so he doesn’t become a menace! Someone willing to continue training to keep him the good boy we know he is would be perfect.

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs

Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.

All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.

Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.

We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.

Can't adopt Douglas? You can still help.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
