Meet Chloe ❤️
At 11 years young, Chloe is looking for something pretty simple from life: a peaceful home, kind people, a comfortable place to snooze and perhaps a garden she can supervise.
This sweet older girl has recently had a bit of a makeover, including several teeth removed and a fabulous groom, and she’s settling into foster life while we get to know more about her.
THE BEST BITS
A genuinely sweet little lady.
Chloe is an absolute sweetheart. She may be in her senior years, but she still has plenty of personality and is a lovely little companion to have around.

If you’re someone who likes pottering around outside, Chloe will happily join the gardening crew. Whether she’s actually helping or simply providing supervision is still up for debate.
She enjoys the quieter side of life.
Chloe isn’t looking for a household full of action. At this stage of her life, we think she’d be happiest somewhere calm and predictable where she can settle into her own routine.
A SENSITIVE SOUL
Chloe is very easily startled by noises. When something frightens her, her instinct is to run away and find somewhere to hide.
She’ll need a patient family who understands this and will give her safe places to retreat to without forcing her out before she’s ready. A quieter home where she isn’t constantly surrounded by unexpected noises and activity would suit her beautifully.
She also sometimes needs a little encouragement to start eating. Once she gets going, though, she eats well — she just occasionally needs convincing that dinner is, in fact, worth getting out of bed for.
THE IDEAL HOME
For Chloe, we’re looking for a peaceful retirement home where she can enjoy life at her own pace.
We believe she would be happiest as the only dog in an adult-only home without young children. She hasn’t been around cats while in our care, so we currently don’t know how she would feel about sharing her home with one.
Most importantly, Chloe needs someone who understands that older dogs can come with their own little quirks. Someone gentle and patient who will give her time to feel safe and never expect her to be something she isn’t.
At 11 years old, Chloe isn’t asking for grand adventures.
She’s looking for somewhere safe. Somewhere quiet. A garden to potter around in. A comfy spot to call hers.
And someone who thinks the senior years might just be the very best ones to share. ❤️

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs
Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.
All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.
Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.
We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
