Argos update – ready for his next adventure!
The wrecking ball has officially landed… and now he’s ready to find a home of his own to brighten (and energetically reorganise).
Argos is doing really well overall. He’s got a few skin things we’re tidying up, but otherwise he’s happy, comfortable, and feeling pretty good about life.
Out and about, he’s discovering the world in real time. Sometimes this includes moments of deep philosophical reflection when he spots things in the distance. You can almost hear him wondering how something can exist that far away. Big thoughts, big feelings.
Socially, he is an absolute extrovert. Loves people. Loves dogs. Possibly loves them a little too much. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who thinks every stranger is a long-lost best friend, Argos is your guy.
Right now, food and toys are competing with the sheer excitement of being alive and surrounded by potential friends. Motivation is a work in progress, but he’s learning that snacks are, in fact, excellent life choices.
He bonds quickly and loves his person with his whole oversized heart. He’s the kind of dog who will pick you as his human and commit immediately, like you’ve been best mates forever.
Argos is also a bit of a fence connoisseur. Not destructive, just… curious and thorough in his inspections. He’s got some prey drive too, with a likely past career in possum patrol, so he’ll need a home that understands and manages that appropriately.
All in all, he’s a big personality, full of charm, enthusiasm, and just the right amount of chaos to keep life interesting. He’s ready for a home that will embrace his social nature, continue his learning, and give him plenty of outlets for that big, busy brain.
Stay tuned for more updates… or better yet, come meet him.

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs
Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.
All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.
Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.
We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.
Can't adopt Argos? You can still help.
Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
