Despite being a Malinos Argos is not a "bite first, ask questions later" type of guy you often see them being on media. He runs more along the tune of "parkour, snuggle and do what my person is doing"
Owned a Cattle dog? A Husky? A German Shepherd? And looking for your next adventure companion? Argos will be right in your wheelhouse!
Although high energy, Argos is good at relaxing once his exercise needs are met. He's a go anywhere kinda guy. Quiz night at the pup? He's down. Café date? He's down. Stroll through botanical gardens? He's down. Bringing the firewood inside? He's down. Toys are his vibe, food is his vibe. Want to teach him neat tricks, he'll do it. Want to get a gateway dog to get into scent work, mantrailing, or obedience. Show him how and he will do it with a tail wag qnd a big smile.
What you need for Argos? A sense of humor, some experience with high drive dog breeds, some chew toys and a whole lot of "lets get out and adventure"
As a Belgian Malinos Argos can be mouthy, be prey driven, and be possessive towards other dogs. Because of this structure around other dogs in the home is essential. Though he does share the communal toys in the home beautifully.
Cats and children below 10 are not advised but with the right management and supervision he could absolutely live with them! Livestock are a non issue for him!

A Note on Training and Adopting Our Dogs
Our dogs are wonderful, and we invest a great deal of time and effort into their training and preparation. However, no dog is “perfectly trained” or ready to adopt without any ongoing work.
All dogs go through normal life stages and changes — puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, aging, moving homes, and adapting to new environments. Any of these can lead to stress, uncertainty, or moments of testing boundaries.
Because of this, ongoing training is essential. Training isn’t a one-off task; it’s a continual process that helps you understand your dog’s needs, support them through transitions, and set everyone up for long-term success.
We would expect adopters to maintain the training we’ve started and seek further guidance if needed. We’re always happy to help with information and recommendations for trainers, and provide advice during the trial and adoption process also.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
